Agadir is one of Morocco's premier seaside resorts. Bordered by a vast sandy beach and the Atlantic Ocean, the city enjoys a mild, sunny climate for much of the year. Rebuilt after the 1960 earthquake, it now presents a modern face, with a long seaside promenade, a marina, and numerous cafes and restaurants.

To discover another side of the city, head up to the heights of Agadir Oufella , which overlook the entire bay, and then explore the Souk El Had , one of the largest markets in southern Morocco. Agadir also makes a good base for enjoying the nearby beaches and visiting the coastal villages, notably Taghazout and Aourir.

The city is also an excellent starting point for exploring the Souss region and the Anti-Atlas Mountains. Inland, Taroudant retains its ramparts and traditional town atmosphere. Further south, Tiznit is known for its medina and handicrafts. Heading up the coast, you reach Essaouira , while Marrakech allows you to continue your journey towards the High Atlas Mountains and the imperial cities.
