The souks of Taroudant are renowned for Amazigh crafts, leather goods, carpets, silver jewelry, and local products such as argan oil. The city is easily explored on foot or by horse-drawn carriage, following the ramparts and then wandering through the narrow streets of the medina and its lively squares.
Taroudant also makes a good base for exploring the Souss Valley and the surrounding mountains. To the west, Agadir provides access to the Atlantic coast, while to the south , Tiznit opens the route to the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the Moroccan south.
