Tiznit is a city in southern Morocco and the capital of the Tiznit Province, in the Souss-Massa-Draa region. The city's population, which stood at 53,682 inhabitants in 2004, is largely Berber.

Tiznit is located 15 km from the Atlantic Ocean, 81 km south of Agadir , 203 km south of Essaouira , 271 km southwest of Marrakech and 553 km south of Rabat .

The city was restored in 1882 by the Alaouite Sultan Hassan I, who endowed it with a long wall that still encircles the old medina. El Mechouar Square is one of the city's centers, with the palace of Sultan Hassan I opposite the building that housed the representative of the French army during the French protectorate .

The medina is divided into four quarters centered around a spring, the blue spring. This spring, which allowed the irrigation of many gardens, made the city famous; but it has lost much of its flow following the digging of the Reggada spring in the neighboring Ouled Jerrar tribe.

Tiznit has acquired a great reputation for its goldsmithing, of which the fibula is the flagship symbol.
