Foum Zguid is a small town in southern Morocco, located at the foot of the Jbel Bani mountains, on the border between the pre-Saharan oases and the vast desert expanses. Less touristy than other gateways to the Sahara, it is an ideal starting point for exploring landscapes that remain largely untouched.

From Foum Zguid, the tracks lead to Lake Iriki , now largely dried up, and then to the dunes and hamadas of the Sahara. 4x4 excursions, bivouacs, and hikes offer the opportunity to discover an environment of mineral plateaus, dunes, and vast horizons, particularly towards Chegaga .

Foum Zguid is also an interesting stop between Tata and the roads leading to Ouarzazate and the Draa Valley. Its palm grove and Saharan surroundings make it a suitable base for travelers seeking a quieter and less crowded approach to the Moroccan desert.
