Chegaga is one of the major dune systems in southern Morocco. Located beyond M'hamid , the erg stretches across an isolated Saharan landscape, composed of dunes, stony plateaus, and vast desert expanses. The site is renowned for having some of the most impressive dunes in Morocco.

Chegaga is usually explored during a desert excursion, either by 4x4 or camel, with the option of spending a night in a bivouac . Sunrise and sunset over the dunes are highlights of the trip, as is observing the night sky in this sparsely populated area.

M'hamid is one of the main starting points for reaching the Chegaga dunes. Further north, Zagora allows you to continue exploring the Draa Valley, its palm groves, and its ancient kasbahs.
