Situated at an altitude of over 1,500 meters, it is the main starting point for exploring the famous Dadès Gorges and their landscapes of cliffs, cultivated valleys, and earthen villages.
As you travel up the valley, the road passes kasbahs, spectacular rock formations, and several viewpoints offering beautiful panoramas of the gorges. The region is also known for its Amazigh villages and for the trails that allow you to explore the landscapes of the Dadès Valley on foot.
Boumalne is a natural stopover between Ouarzazate and Tinghir , where the Todra Gorge is located. To the west, the road also leads to Skoura and the Valley of Roses before continuing on to Ouarzazate.
