We received a very warm welcome from our group of Parisian climbers, who stayed for about ten days at the hostel, where we were treated like royalty in this exceptional place. Meal times were conveniently arranged around our climbing schedule, as well as our two-day camel trek (actually spread over an afternoon, then a full day, and a morning), allowing us to climb before heading into the desert and again in the afternoon upon our return, although some of us did visit the Tinghir market. The new climbing guidebook proved invaluable, although we had to interpret it ourselves! Experienced climbers will be thrilled, but they should take precautions and carry safety equipment; the site is exceptional, and the route development (already a significant amount of work has been done) needs further completion. It's clear that the gorges are teeming with tourists arriving by bus and with shops, but this doesn't hinder climbing at all, and vice versa! In fact, everything is peaceful! The inn, overlooking the lush greenery of the wadi, offers a complete change of scenery. Its large terraces, shaded or sunny as you prefer, provide plenty of armchairs for relaxing or enjoying meals. Finally, Hamou and Aziz, those I know from the team, are incredibly attentive: just ask, as they can't think of everything. This isn't a tour operator experience, but rather a warm Moroccan welcome! We highly recommend it, but not too much, as we want to return before it gets booked up so quickly!
